Preferred
style: Royalguard
- The battle starts with Beowulf walking towards
you. The moment you get close, he'll do a 3-hit combo which can be easily side-dodged.
With Royalguard, guard as much as you can to build up rage. He also stomps from time to
time so always be prepared to guard/roll/jump
away.
Note: Beowulf's weak point is his face,
so make sure to aim at it for maximum damage. A&R's Crossed Swords is recommended.
- Slashing him in the face may cause him to clutch and eye and
swing an arm around, so dodge to the left (since he swings his left arm) and
return to attack when he's done.
- After reducing about 30~40% of his life,
he will run to a corner and throw spiky
containers at you. You can roll, jump, guard, shoot,
or even throw them back at him by Helm Breaking the container the moment it touches the ground.
Do this until he stops and charges at you on all fours.
You can easily avoid this by double jumping.
- Note: In
the harder modes, he may also charge at
you together with a container. As he
charges, containers will continue
to fall and form obstacles in the battlefield.
Get away from the containers since they
can hurt you when they crash if Beowulf
lunges through them.
- After charging at you several times,
Beowulf will stop, stand back on twos
and behave similarly to the beginning of the
battle, so repeat step 1.
- However, this time Beowulf will perform a new move. If you see
him about to slam his fist into the ground,
jump away. There'll be a huge explosion
(Volcano) and
its range is decently wide. In the harder
modes, the explosion may also send nearby
containers flying in random directions,
so be careful. Double jumping + shooting
in the air works wonders. Alternately,
you can also guard against Volcano.
Note that it has 2 hits
so you'll have to guard twice accurately.
- Sometimes, after continuously hitting
Beowulf, he'll stagger and then
arch his back. Get away from him ASAP
to avoid a huge blast of light covering
a decent range. Guarding this
is also possible. Once over,
get close to him again to attack.
- His last form of attack is a sort of
'homing' light 'missiles'.
These can be quite damaging but they can
be fully avoided if you manage to get
to and stay right by Beowulf's side. The
light missiles are long ranged and will not
hit you if you're right by Beowulf.
Another way would be to activate DT and
run away (less damage), or use Dash
with Trickster. The safest and most advantageous
way, however, is to use LV3 Royalguard's
Ultimate. It will absorb
the light missiles and even recover you
some health.
Note: There
is a way to make it so that Beowulf will
not do this move on you. Beowulf
does this only if you are far away
from him after his container-throwing phase. So when he runs to a corner,
stick closely to him and attack as much as you can while dodging the containers/arm
swing. This is double advantage - you
can damage him a lot more than shooting,
and since you are right by Beowulf, he will not perform his light missile attack.
