Thugs (Elite)
Thug - Elite (Type 1)
First appearance: Stage 1-2
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Suplex
Weapon: Can pick up wooden planks, steel pipes, sledgehammers, torches
This elite type is the first you encounter in the game. They're characterized by their yellow and purple outfit, not to mention their Volgin-look-alike face. (LOL) Most of their punches and attacks are high attacks, so you can easily duck them all for the most part. Their special attack is a 'drilling' punch which takes some time to execute, so you can easily interrupt/counter him in that time.
Thug - Elite (Type 2)
First appearance: Stage 2-1
HP: High
Projectiles: Blue Mohawk
Grab attacks: Suplex
Weapon: Can pick up wooden planks, steel pipes, sledgehammers
Characterized by their blue Mohawk, these guys are very similar to type 1 elites, only with the addition of their Mohawk projectile. Incredibly, these guys are capable of re-growing their Mohawk in seconds, so don't assume once they've thrown it they're projectile-less. LOL
Thug - Elite (Type 3)
First appearance: Little Devil challenge in stage 1-2
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: ???
Weapon: Gold club (spiked club)
This elite type always appears with a gold club in hand. Unless you dizzy them or defeat them, they are unlikely to drop the club, so for the most part you'll only be dealing with his club-swing attacks. The fast way to take them down is to counter with a quick punch each time they swing (duck, then punch).
Thug - Elite (Type 4)
First appearance: ???
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Suplex
Weapon: Can pick up wooden planks, steel pipes, sledgehammers
These are similar to the typical elite thugs, only with the addition of a knee attack (which is slow) that you can easily duck/back flip to avoid.
Thug - Elite (Type 5)
First appearance: ???
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Suplex
Weapon: ???
Characterized by their orange outfit and dark skin, these are similar to the other elite thugs. The one difference (that I remember) is his special attack, which is a tricky rising uppercut he does after rolling a little forwards; it often catches you unaware. You can avoid by back flipping.
Thug - Elite (Type 6)
First appearance: Stage 8-1
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Suplex
Weapon: Can pick up electric rods
Exact replicas of type 1 elite thugs, only, they wear red. (I think)
Robot - Elite
First appearance: Stage 4-2
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Suplex
Weapon: Can pick up electric rods
The android version of a typical elite thug, namely those of type 1.
Skinny Ass - Elite
First appearance: Stage 2-3
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: None
Weapon: Dual blades
Unlike the non-elite skinny asses, these elite ones aren't capable of throwing projectiles... Yay! However, they're still annoying; they have a very wide range of attack thanks to the length of their arms and blade. They also have multi-hit spinning blade attacks (you'll need to back flip away from to evade) and a forward thrust attack (also back flip to avoid).
Zebra-striped thug
First appearance: Stage 3-1
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Suplex
Weapon: None
Highly similar to type 1 elite thugs. The only difference (that I remember) is his special attack, which is a thrust kick. To avoid, side dodge or run away.
Chinese Thug
First appearance: Stage 5-2
HP: High
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Crotch poker
Weapon: None
These Chinese elites are the upgraded version of a regular Chinese thug. They share similar moves, but this one has more. Thankfully, most of the additional moves the elites have are high attacks, which can be easily ducked. The one thing you must be very careful of is his crotch-poking grab attack. On LV Die that thing hurts like mad. Poor Gene. LOL
Wrestler
First appearance: Little Devil challenge in stage 4-4
HP: Mid
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: ???
Weapon: None
Despite their size and tough look, surprisingly they aren't high on HP and are quite the pushover. Some of his attacks include a spinning arms attack (duck to avoid) and a grab attack where he lifts Gene up and tries to do something... but I don't know what since you can always struggle out of it. Oops. =P
Granny Smacker
First appearance: Stage 4-7
HP: Very high
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Face crusher
Weapon: None
Granny Smacker (I conveniently named him after his specialty move) is one of a kind. He appears only once in the entire game in stage 4-6, which is a shame. Anyway, this tall dude's really slow but he's capable of sustaining your attacks and proceeding with his own regardless if he gets hit, so always be on the look out to duck any of his palm whacks (they dizzy you really easily). Also, be careful of his grab attack where he grabs your head and slams it against his knee; it really hurts.
Sensei
First appearance: Stage 6-1
HP: Very high
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: None
Weapon: Katana
The Senseis are special in a sense that their health bar is unique like the demons, hence you can consider them as a sub boss.
Against a Sensei, stay close to him at all times (punch-able distance). He is 99% likely to do a sword trust the moment battle begins so prepare to duck. Most of his attacks are high attacks but he does have a few low/mid attacks so beware. The best way to deal with him is to keep punching and anticipate when he'll guard. If you didn't manage to break his guard in time, your best bet is to immediately duck. He randomizes between high and low/mid attacks so you'll have to be alert in the case you have to back flip instead.
When he does high attacks, you can easily counter him in between (if he swings a few times) with a Left Jab (Left Jabs are best/most reliable for countering). Of course, this works best when you've memorized/gotten used to his attacks, so first timers, try your best!
Tiger Joe
First appearance: Stage 6-2
HP: Very high
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: ???
Weapon: None
Tiger Joe is one of the only 4 enemies in the game who're capable of duck-evasion, hence making it hard to land your attacks, but no worries. If he's cheap, we can simply be cheaper than him =P The easiest way to deal with him is to spam Drunken Twist (using evade-cancel), which is one of the two cheapest tactics. (Refer to "Evade Canceling" under Useful Tactics for more information.) Otherwise, you may have to deal with him like you do with Azel. He is also practically a sub boss, complete with his own BGM.
Bouncer
First appearance: Stage 8-2
HP: Very high
Projectiles: None
Grab attacks: Back Breaker
Weapon: None
This guy appears only in Little Devil's challenge in stage 8-2 or the casino.
He is highly similar to the
wrestler; in fact, I don't remember if he is any different at all. He is generally
slow and predictable, and he does mostly high attacks so you should easily
duck them. He also has a grab attack which you can easily struggle out of.
