Dante - Savior (M18)

As much as I hate to say this, you have to admit that this is pretty much a God of War rip-off, or something. The DMC series has always had a lot to do with statues for some reasons but this one overdid it. Anyway, you’ll start off by obtaining Yamato and the Darkslayer mode.

  1. You’ll find yourself on a platform where there’re 2 blue rings. Stepping on these blue rings will bring you to the next platform where there’ll be more of these blue rings. This is how you travel around looking for the ‘laser-device’ and for you to avoid the Savior’s attacks later on. Your objective is to break all the blue crystals on the Savior’s body.

  2. So, what you do is to keep stepping on those blue rings until you land on the right platform with the ‘laser-device’ (it is very obvious) which you’ll have to activate by hitting the familiar blue wheel. All this time, White Knights will be around to hinder you. You can ignore them, but they have little health here so it’s up to you.

  3. There are two laser-devices that points to the side. They project a blue beam which could stun the Savior’s arms when he smacks his hand to attack. Another way to achieve the same thing, though, is to quickly jump atop his hand after side rolling away from his hand smack attack. He takes a few seconds to pull his hand back so jump on.

    Note that throughout this battle, the Savior will either smack his hands to attack or to push you off the platform you’re on. If you were on the platform with the laser-device and he pushes you off… well… you’ll have to re-find it. =_=;;

  4. Anyway, climb on board both arms (one at a time of course) to break the 2 blue crystals on each arm (shotgun shots are highly efficient). The only attack he’ll do here is his hand swipe which you can easily jump away from. The crystal on his forehead is also best broken here. Also, some knights may follow you up his arm.

  5. Once you break both blue crystals on either arm, the Savior will drop you back on a different platform. To get the rest of the crystals on his body, you’ll need to knock out the Savior himself. To do this, you can either 1) find and activate the one laser-device that faces towards him (this one shoots fireballs) 2) continuously whack his hand after avoiding his smack attack to knock him out 3) Spam Drive + Over Drive (Rebellion Swordmaster LV4).

  6. When that happens, you will be taken to a platform with 2 blue rings. The blue ring on the left will take you to where you can break the blue crystals on the Savior’s right arm (if they’re still unbroken). There will also be a knight and Fault (the thing that appears from the ground and brings you to a 3rd dimension) there.

  7. After breaking the right arm's blue crystals (if need), jump back down to the lower platform and take the blue ring there to the next few platforms where you can break the rest of the blue crystals.

    If you didn’t manage to break them all before the Savior wakes up, repeat steps 5, 6 and 7 until the only blue crystal left unbroken is the one on his chest.

  8. Now, you'll see the Savior start charging some sort of attack. He takes a number of seconds to do this and to avoid, you'll need to get on the blue rings to jump from platform to platform until you reach a new platform high above and a short cutscene follows. This is when the real battle begins.

  9. The Savior has only a few moves and most of them are jump-avoidable. (The blue orbs he shoots can also be cancelled using the shotgun – one shot per orb, and it'll leave you white orbs) Other ways of avoiding include Sky Star and jumping to the next platform using the blue rings.

  10. Whenever you are out of range or thrown off a platform, abuse the shotgun or Drive + Over Drive with Rebellion. I know it’s illogical but Dante’s shotgun knows no bounds and Over Drive is just insane. Otherwise, you can wait till he gets close to the platform to attack.

  11. After hitting him enough, he will collapse for a while and you will fall onto a new platform with only 1 blue ring. Step on it and you’ll fly towards his chest where you’re free to attack for about 10 seconds. Abuse DT + any strong moves for easy massive damage. (Hint: Real Impact is a killer)

  12. Repeat steps 9 and 10 to victory.
