SENDOU AKIRA
Series: Slam Dunk
Weight of Role: Medium

Re-watching and getting re-obsessed with Slam Dunk made me realize just how much I love and miss this man, or rather, boy. Sendou is not much in looks; he's quite average actually. What's so awesome about him is his character - he's got the most charisma and charm of any character I've ever come to love. To sum it up, Sendou is very laid back, kind of free-as-the-wind, and is also seemingly lazy in his own way. He's very into his first love, basketball, and is extremely good and confident at it. Interestingly, though never offensive, he is both modest and cocky/cheeky in his own way when it comes to displaying his skills against a worthy opponent. A truly charming character whom I actually wish would come to live for me to love. T__T

KYUUZOU
Series: Samurai 7
Weight of Role: Medium

To put it blatantly, Kyuuzou is the best looking non-girly guy in Samurai 7, not to mention the strongest as well. Cold, quiet and solitary, Kyuuzou certainly is not the most interactive character. However his presence alone even without words is powerful. Throughout the anime, Kyuuzou remains a mysterious warrior and a true samurai who communicates silently through actions only. This man has continued to be my #1 favorite for over 4 years, only to be recently pushed to #2 because of Sendou.

TRAFALGAR LAW

Series: One Piece
Weight of Role: Minor

Law immediately became a clear #1 favorite for me almost immediately after he first showed up in the Shabondy Archipelago Arc. (Sorry, Zoro!) I fell in love with his laid back personality along with his slightly badboy and cocky attitude, which interestingly contradicts with his laid backness. Of course, undeniably looks is also a huge factor. XD I love the hip hop street look he's got, and his considerably sexy voice. <3333 I can't wait to see more of him in the series.

MANIGOLDO
Series: Saint Seiya Lost Canvas
Weight of Role: Medium

Manigoldo came as the biggest surprise to me in Lost Canvas. I wasn't expecting to like him but he ended up becoming my top fav @_@!! I love his not-a-care-in-the-world attitude as well as his unshaken loyalty and adoration of his master. I love his sense of humor/sarcasm concerning okama's as well. Hahaha! IMO, he also had the best battle scene in the anime so far. Long live Cancer!!!! (ah yes, he's the Cancer Gold Saint lol)

SHAKA
Series: Saint Seiya
Weight of Role: Medium

(Comments not ready)

KABURAGI T. KOTETSU
Series: Tiger & Bunny
Weight of Role: Main

A superhero of passion with a heart of gold. His superpowers include flight, super strength and speed, which for some reason only lasts 5 minutes per interval (about once an hour). His goal is save and protect all the citizens of Sternbild City, and for that purpose it doesn't matter to him if he causes property damage, which is how he earns the nickname Crusher for Justice. His superhero name, however, is Wild Tiger and most people call him Tiger, except for the only few who know his real identity.

HIJIKATA TOUSHIROU
Series: Gintama
Weight of Role: Major

(Comments not ready)

TAKAGI AKITO
Series: Bakuman
Weight of Role: Main

A true aspiration. A boy of pure passion, optimism, self motivation, diligence, confidence (yet modest) and selflessness, with a strong desire for growth and success. Takagi is compromising, understanding, thoughtful and endearing in all ways possible, making him one of the fondest realistic characters I've ever seen in my history of anime/manga. Simply watching him gives me hope and optimism. His positivity and radiance makes this world seem so beautiful. I love him so much.

SAGARA SOUSUKE
Series: Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Panic Fumoffu,
           Full Metal Panic Second Raid
Weight of Role: Main

Sagara is too hilariously serious. He is the #1 character for someone who's equally serious and funny at the same time. His social problems are way beyond hope but at the same time they seem to give some meaning and light to his mercenary life. The way he handles, talks and reacts to people outside Mithril is simply amusing. Better yet, he is unaware of what he does wrong. Overall, Sagara is easily everyone's favorite for those who watch FMP.

SOUMA AYAME

Series: Fruits Basket
Weight of Role: Minor

Like Sagara, Ayame is friggin' hiliarious, tho' he's nothing of a serious character. Not only is he loudmouthed, he's shameless, misleading and stupid. And to think he's really 27 years old... Anyway, although Ayame has a really small role in the Fruits Basket anime, he never fails to make me laugh. He looks feminine all right, which usually won't earn my favor, but his voice alone covers it up. I watched this anime a few years ago but my memories of Ayame always stay fresh and clear.

JIN
Series: Samurai Champloo
Weight of Role: Major

I knew I'd LOVE this guy the moment I saw him, and I was right! He's the calm and cool type of guy who's also serious but not entirely since he doesn't always just ignore you and can be pretty friendly and nice. Despite the type of impression he gives, he can also be funny and do some silly things that you won't think he would. Jin's tall but skinny, and it's proven he doesn't eat a lot and gets full really easily, but, he does get hungry often XP Really gotta love this dude!!

GRIMMJOW JEAGERJAQUES
Series: Bleach
Weight of Role: Minor

(Comments not ready)

PIERROT BONNAZ
Series: Yakitate!! Japan
Weight of Role: Medium

Here comes the world level pierrot who can speak 150 different languages, duplicate into more than 135 copies of himself and has the knowledge of the universe. He is potentially loud, laughs a lot and loves to talk about his past. He may look kinda crazy but he is a kind man with a kind heart. And above all, he's hyper hiliarious! Sure he dresses funny, speaks Japanese funny and behaves funny, so whazzat mean? It means, funny = GOOD!!!

GAARA
Series: Naruto
Weight of Role: Medium

Cold and quiet, much like Kyuuzou but a little more complicated in the head. Gaara's one of those who eventually turn from bad to good. I don't love him cause he's sympathetic. Rather, I used to love him for being ruthless and psychotic! I have quite the interest in evil, evil characters, you see. =) Right now I just love him cause I do. Besides, this dude needs love, seriously. This is yet another personal preference but I also love guy characters with his kind of short hairstyle.

TRES
Series: Trinity Blood
Weight of Role: Minor

The only machine I love. Unfortunately, Tres plays an utterly small role in the anime. Like all androids, Tres feels no emotions and obeys only orders given to him. He seems to care highly for style during combat and shoots in angles and ways that are so ridiculous. It's cool but it totally makes me laugh at the same time, which is good. The main reason why I love this dude so much though, is cos' he gives me the very thick-headed, dense, silly and child-like impression despite his cool appearance, style and all.

L
Series: Death Note
Weight of Role: Major

L has already received the Manga Oscar Award so his award here will not be considered for the Top 3. For L's comments, please refer to the Manga Oscar Award page.

INUI SADAHARU
Series: Prince of Tennis
Weight of Role: Major

My first impression of this guy is "Nerd. Geek." Man, it has to be the glasses. Believe it or not this guy is only 14, and truly is a nerd, only leaning more towards Physics than computers. He plays tennis using his so-called data tennis whereby he collects and analyzes others people's data to form his own strategy. Sounds really smart ya? Nah. He's smart only in tennis. When it comes to other things he can be pretty dumb. He also enjoys threatening the lives of his tennis mates with his proud 'toxidic' vegetable juice, or rather, chemicals. Bottomline, I didn't think nerds could be so much fun =)

GUU
Series: Jungle Wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu
Weight of Role: Main

Guu is the ONLY female character who has won this award. Since I'm a girl myself, naturally, I have the tendency to go for guy characters instead, but Guu is truly, truly exceptional. I really have to say, Guu is undoubtedly one of the funniest, most hiliarious anime characters ever existed. Her face expression alone is enough to throw me off. The pranks and mischief she does, the sarcasm, lies and words she spills, the attitude, the threats she give, and eat-everything-in- the-world stomach. Everything about this girl is absurd and hilarious from head to toe. Two words - she rocks.

ALUCARD
Series: Hellsing
Weight of Role: Main

I gotta admit. Alucard's definitely not the best looking guy, neither does he dress that great. Most of the time he's presented as scary and sometimes disgusting looking. So why do I like him? Tough question. I'm not sure of it myself, but I do know that his scariness is part of it. He's a mysterious vampire who sides with humans, so technically he's a good guy, but man is he lunatic. He has the thirst to kill and acts pretty psychotic during the process. In my opinion, he's excitingly dangerous, and that's what's cool.

AMANO GINJI
Series: Get Backers
Weight of Role: Main

Loving Ginji alone is like loving three different characters all at once - Ginji, Tare-Ginji and Raitei. Ginji is innocent, dumb and cheerful. Tare-Ginji is absolute kawaii-ness. Raitei is posh, cool and mysterious. Isn't this the ultimate combination of all sorts of personalities in just one character? =) Also, if you love this guy, you simply have to love his voice too. Morikubo Shoutarou's voice is too good and adorable to miss.

MAS HUGHES
Series: Full Metal Alchemist
Weight of Role: Medium

Hughes is the proudest father of any character I've seen throughout my history of anime. He is a loving father and husband who also loves to brag about his beautiful 3 year old daughter. Although he behaves silly for the most part, he really is very kindhearted and is highly supportive of his comrades. If he were my father I'd be very, very proud. If only his appearance could have lasted longer...

VASH THE STAMPEDE
Series: Trigun
Weight of Role: Main

The #1 donut lover! Optimistic, easy-going and happy-go-lucky, Vash is one of the funnest characters. He continues travelling relaxingly even though he knows he has the biggest bounty in the history of mandkind on his head. This guy doesn't talk back even when accused! That's something I can never do this life. Vash is bright and merry, but deep inside him lies a certain mystery he never reveals to others, even close friends. However, it does not seem to me like he acts merry to cover up the sadness within. Instead, Vash is honest with his emotions, but he keeps personal matters to only himself. In any case, thumbs up for Vash!

KOUGAIJI
Series: Gensomaden Saiyuki, Saiyuki Reloaded,
           Saiyuki Gunlock
Weight of Role: Medium

I love Kougaiji, but I think his role is often badly treated. He starts out being the 'bad guy' in the anime, and later you realize he's not that bad after all. Sanzo and gang bump into Kougaiji and gang from time to time and they'd commonly start a battle. As the leader of his gang, Kougaiji is supposedly strong. He's one of the few remaining youkais who're still sane and can even do summonings. However, he is usually presented as the unlucky bad dude. When battling Goku, Kougaiji often ends up losing pathetically and has to go back with his tail between his legs. I adore him, but at the same time I can't help but sympathize his character as well.

HISOKA
Series: Hunter x Hunter
Weight of Role: Medium

The only guy I've ever dreamt being really in love with. Indeed he is my #1 favorite in the Hunter x Hunter series but I don't love him that much as to actually want to dream of being in love with him. O_o Anyway, few things about Hisoka that are peculiar. One, his voice. Some may think it sounds annoying but I think it's very unique and it actually fits him very well. It might make him sound sissy as well, but I think it's interesting anyway. Two, his outfit. He changes outfit once in a while and will look quite different each time. His first outfit is bad, but the rest are better. Three, his mysteriousness. In the end we find out he's just the kind who loves to battle those he thinks are worthy and strong enough, but at the beginning, it was really hard to understand his motives and whether he's a villain.

KAZUTAKA MURAKI
Series: Yami No Matsuei
Weight of Role: Major

Evil doctors can be really tempting, especially when you're as hot as this fair-skinned death angel. Calm and collected, Muraki always speaks in the polite form of speech and behaves gentlemanly. Among the few characters in Yami No Matsuei, Muraki and Tatsumi are the only two I consider manly. I don't quite favor any less manly characters so Muraki very easily takes the highest position.

CLAUDE K. WINCHESTER
Series: Gravitation
Weight of Role: Minor

Man, with this guy as your manager, though you're guarunteed to be an effecient worker, you'll be worrying about your life every second, in and out of work. K brings guns to work, regardless it being legal or not, and will threaten you to do your work properly. No backing out of plans all of a sudden, no being selfish. Despite how it sounds, K is really an easy-going and funny character. Just beware of him sniping at you when he wants you to get something done.

AIKAWA KAZUHIKO
Series: Dear Boys
Weight of Role: Main

A born basketball genius. Even with a height of only 175cm, Aikawa's still very capable of slam dunking. Cheerful and sweet in nature, he is also very motivating and inspirating. His words and actions highly influence those around him, turning people who were once cold and sour warm and sweet. He knows he's good but he doesn't show off. A very pleasant boy tho' he may be a little slow when it comes to romance.

SPIKE SPIEGEL
Series: Cowboy Bebop
Weight of Role: Main

Spike is by no doubt one of the most popular Anime characters in America. He may not look the right size but this guy can kick some pretty serious ass with his martial arts, shooting skils plus reflexes. He also has the intellgence, which makes him such a cool character altogether. He gives a very carefree impression and is mostly calm about all things. Tho' he's cool and all, he can be quite sloppy sometimes. He seems to also can't quit smoking. A great guy with great personality.

SUBARU
Series: X 1999
Weight of Role: Medium

The one and only Taoism master of any Anime character I know. Subaru is a young man of few words. What we mainly know of him is that he wants to avenge for his sister, who was betrayed and killed by their closest friend Seiichirou. However, it seems that there also lies complicated feelings inside him that was never much revealed. It's obvious though that Subaru is kind and softhearted by nature, and never means to be vengeful. A sweet character who deserves some love from those he loves.

NAKAGO
Series: Fushigi Yuugi
Weight of Role: Major

First thing I must say about him: He should kiss Tamahome more often!! Mwahahaha!! So, this blondie is one of those who hate the world due to some bad experiences he had as a child. Very typically, I end up sympathizing him, thinking he really needs someone to love him. He may have gone as far as tricking others and lying to them to achieve his goals but cos' I could feel his psychology, his bad acts were easily forgiven. Haha! And hey, he's good looking =)

HARTIA
Series: Majutsushi Orphen, Majutsushi Orphen Revenge
Weight of Role: Medium

In the first Orphen series, Hartia plays a rather non- significant role. It's only in the 2nd series does he play a bigger and better role. This redhead is Orphen's close childhood friend, and is very supportive of him. He often appears to help them when they get in trouble, but thinking that he shouldn't reveal his identity, he often appears as what he calls Black Tiger - hero of the night. Black Tiger's outfit is so ridiculous I thought it was the male version of Sailormoon + some other hero, riding on the back of an angry bull that's too heavy for the roof. Overall, Hartia's fun, humorous and enjoyable.

DOUMYOUJI TSUKASA
Series: Hana Yori Dango
Weight of Role: Major

Tsukasa is the only guy I'd pick for a boyfriend if he were real. He may be rather spoilt and dumb but he's absolutely adorable and sweet, and is full of sincerity when it comes to the one he loves. He is the kind who will make any effort to change his ways and behavior if that's what his girl wants, and he's more than willing to sacrifice himself to protect her. When watching this anime a long long time ago, I remember feeling deeply touched by Tsukasa's actions throughout the drama. He may have started out being a bastard, but he has the willingness to change. However, he is very clumsy at words.

TAKASHI MORINOZUKA

Series: Ouran High School Host Club
Weight of Role: Medium

More commonly known as Mori, Takashi is said to be the 'wild' type among the 6 members of the Host Club in Ouran high school but I'm not sure what they mean by 'wild' cos' he's nothing wild the way I see it. He's quiet and usually puts on a blank/neutral face, but he's friendly and easy to get along with. Occasionally, he may also say one or two ridiculous things you'll never imagine for him to say. A very cool-spirited and easy-to-fall-in-love-with guy.
