| L
|
|
|
Manga:
Death Note
Type of Manga: Shounen
Weight of Role: Major
L has the most unique
character, personality and behavior of anyone I've ever
seen. Believe it or not, my very first thought when I first
saw him was "What the hell...??" L is a born genius
who appears perhaps once every billion births, but he is
a very sloppy genius with odd habits and the worst case
of dark rings. He cannot stand nor sit up straight and has
to put his legs up and slouch when sitting in order to think
perfectly. He also has to take in loads of sugar to increase
his brain activity, which explains why he's always drinking
tea with lumbs and lumbs of sugar, and nibbling on strawberry
cakes. L is only 18 and perhaps cos' he's still young, he
hates to lose. He works as a lone investigator, whose level
surpasses any existing police organization of today, for
serious cases that can't seem be solved normally. L is highly
confident of his analysis, and if somehow proven wrong,
he will feel frustrated but continue to believe in himself.
There's so much to L that to really understand him you have
to read the manga. To me, L will always be the most unique
character of any manga up to this date. |

| SUGIURA
KEIICHI |
|
|
Manga:
Yamadatarou Monogatari
Type of Manga: Shoujo
Weight of Role: Medium
Sugiura is one of the funniest
'gay' characters I've ever known. He's not really gay but
for some reason he is attracted to a fellow schoolmate,
Yamada, and was very troubled about it for a while. To shake
off his confusion he even went to the mountains to 'train',
and with the help of a racoon he made friends with. Unfortunately,
or not, for him, his training was in total vain when he
realized his heart still wouldn't stop pounding whenever
he sees Yamada. Finally figuring out that he likes him,
he tries hard to show Yamada his feelings but his 'evil'
sister will always be there to make things difficult. Silly,
sweet and adorable, Sugiura deserves this award, and 3rd
place in the category too. |

MASA |
|
|
Manga:
Kizuna
Type of Manga: Yaoi
Weight of Role: Major
As you can tell from his
picture, Masa is no young man. He is in his early forties
and he acts his age - mature and manly. Being a top ranking
member of one of the biggest Yakuza groups in Osaka, Masa
is very responsible and serious in his work, which often
cause the young master, Sagano, to misunderstand certain
things. Watching Masa and Sagano's progress in relationship
gave me total tension. Their drama is full of emotions,
whether hidden or outfront, and a lot has got to do with
Masa's quiet nature, and his tendency to be 'formal' with
the young master. He is also always cool, calm and collected,
never getting angry or out of control, unless it has to
do with Sagano's safety. Hereby, Masa is nomated the manliest
of all men!

| DEE
LATENER |
|
|
Manga:
Fake
Type of Manga: Yaoi
Weight of Role: Main/Major
Dee is by far the proudest bisexual
of anyone I've seen, and that makes me proud as well =P Casual
and outgoing, Dee makes a really fun and reliable friend and
partner at work. Sometimes he may seem a little aggressive
when it comes to showing his love but he's really not the
type to force his feelings on others. Dee is very considerate
and always makes sure that Ryo, the one he loves, does not
mind the things he does/say to him. The only few times he
gets annoyed is when Bicky, Ryo's adopted son, deliberately
interrupts his romantic moments with Ryo. XD |

| KAZAMA
RENJI |
|
|
Manga:
Boku No Koe
Type of Manga: Yaoi
Weight of Role: Main/Major
A highly talented and quiet
voice actor. Renji doesn't seem to do well when it comes to
associating with people but when it comes to work, it is said
that no one can surpass him. You would think that he would
feel normal facing a bunch of audience since he is an actor,
tho' only in the vocal sense, but due to a trauma he had when
young, he is in fact afraid of facing any large group of people.
Unable to forget this unpleasant memory, Renji continued to
hold a grudge against the one he thinks is responsible for
it. He is 27, but he behaves and thinks much like a kid, naive
and insensitive. I'm hoping to see more interesting development
in the next few volumes of this manga. |
