Oh man... it's 6am in the morning
and I didn't realize I haven't updated this blog for the longest
time! 2 weeks dude! Woot!! And many things happened, yes! Mwahahahaha!!
Right... =P So what did I do?
First of all I remember that one
day after I last updated this blog on the 7th of December, I started
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. This is pretty late news
by now since I completed that game in 3 days after I started, but
well, here goes the usual 'review'. As expected this sequel also
has a great storyline matching that of the previous game in Prince
of Persia: Sands of Time. Not only the story remains good,
the battle system has been improved. It is mostly the same as Sands
of Time but Warrior Within incorporates many more
combos and attacks, increasing the amount of thrill and variety
in battle. There are also more different types of enemies, and the
Prince can perform more tricks as well, resulting in more varied
obstacles throughout the game. The difficulty level is also higher
than Sands of Time as enemies and bosses this time are way tougher
and will need real strategies to defeat. There are only 2 things
in which Warrior Within is far more different than Sands
of Time. 1) No slightest comedy. In fact, this game is rated
Mature. 2) Has an alternate ending that is required for you to see/know
if you are planning to continue playing the 3rd Prince of Persia
game The Two Thrones. However, to get the alternate ending
you will have to collect all 9 life upgrades in the game, use them
to unlock a secret final weapon and defeat the harder boss with
it.
I started following the walkthrough
only midway so I already missed 2 life upgrades to being with. Knowing
that I won't be able to get the alternate ending, my motivation
to play the game plunged all the way down, frustrated and annoyed
at my own effort that had been in vain. However, a nice online friend
was willing to help me out and found me a video of the alternate
ending! WOOT! So I continued to finish the game, which I did in
3 days (approximately 18-20 hrs total), saw the normal ending and
then watched the alternate ending on the computer =D Both endings
are confusing but whatever they mean, I hope to get an answer in
the next and last Prince of Persia game in this trilogy, The
Two Thrones. It's currently STILL pending in my Gamefly rental
list and I'm really getting annoyed at how long they're taking to
send me it or the next game!!
Next, there's Shin Megami Tensei:
Nocturne that I had very little hope for in finishing even
2% of the game. A game whose storyline is yet again about world
revolution/rebirth of the world, only a little more mysterious.
The story is interesting and has a lot of potential, and the graphics
are good and pretty unique. However, the battle/game system is what
kills the game, making me completely unmotivated to continue it,
or should I better say incapable of continuing it? Now
what do I mean by that?
1) You enter a random battle once
every 5-10 steps. 2) There is an escape option but enemies are able
to prevent you from escaping and if they do, you lose all your turns
and the enemies get to critically damage you and/or increase their
stats. 3) Revive items are very rare and if you don't have any to
revive a downed party member, they will stay unsuable in battle
until you revive them using cash in a special place that is rare
to come by as well. 4) When spells level up, you lose the lower
level spells even if you prefer using them. 5) You can have a total
of 4 people in your party but enemies can keep spawning for you
to end up fighting 6 or more of them. 6) Maps/environments are huge
and getting lost seems to be 50% of the game. And don't forget,
getting lost means encountering a 100 random battles without a single
safe point.
I don't know how people tolerate
this game with all these ridiculously cheap ways of making the game
difficult. If it really weren't for Dante's guest appearance and
the main boy character who's often associated with Dante when it
comes to yaoi, I won't even THINK about playing this game =P So
how long exactly have I played this game? About 3 hrs, still practically
at the very beginning of this what I've heard to be a freaking long
game, and I'm already stuck. Not because I don't know where to go
next, but because already I have no more revive items and the enemies
just happily killed 1 out of 3 of my only party members and leaving
the other 2 alive ones with barely any HP to hang on to. Any chances
of passing this dungeon? NO!!
So next, it's back to Resident
Evil 4!! Woott!! Honestly, this game ROCKS THE WORLD!! I give
it a 10/10 for pretty much every aspect of a game - graphics, storyline,
gameplay, music, value, originality. Yes I know I've talked enough
about it in the previous I dunno how many blog entries but for me
to re-mention it so many times means that this game really rocks!!
Well this time I'm not gonna say too much. Just wanted to say the
last week my friend and I finished this game for our first time
together, although my friend did most of the work. And a few days
ago, I started replaying the entire game at home by myself... and
I completed it today!! WOOOT!!! Oh my god... It was quite some experience
playing it alone without relying on someone else to play the parts
that I'm afraid of. Hahaha! And considering I've seen the entire
game and know what's coming and what strategies to use, I definitely
took a lot of time to beat the game (14+ hrs). Well... the most
important thing is, I actually DID beat the game. =) My very first
horror and RPG shooting game... WOOT!! This game's wayyy too good,
even tho' I've freaked out many many times... XD I suppose I will
continue on with the 2nd part of the game called Separate Ways,
which is Ada's version. (Ada is a female character in the story)
Until I finish this one I can't say I've truly finished RE4's story
mode just yet...
Okay, enough with games. Mwahahhaa!
Last week I went Christmas shopping. Yeah... shopping... Not too
great a thing sometimes but I needed some stuff. I lost a glove,
so I needed to get new gloves or my hands will freeze off in the
cold when I bike, and a long long scarf just cos' I've always wanted
one. Got something for my sister too altho' I can't mention it here
just in case she reads this =P Later I bought myself a new winter
coat, one that's actually warm enough to protect me from the freezing
cold... and I got another pair of gloves again cos' they're made
of a different material and feels warm and great =) Then today I
got myself an 8MB PS2 memory card for the sake of RE4 since for
some reason RE4 just does NOT work with a non-8MB memory card, so
all those RE4 saved files in my original 16MB card are corrupted.
That memory card alone cost me $19.99 and I don't even really need
it! Damn it.. that's the only one thing I'm unhappy with that game.
>_<!!! Oooh.. I got myself this air freshener thing for my
room too, just so that it'll get rid of any bad smell in my room
=P Mwahahahaha!! Ah well, in a week I've spent more money than I
usually do in 3 weeks... Man... I'm broke, yet again... |

| And
so it's finally holidays!! YAAY~~!! ^_^! No more school, no more
waking up early!! Woot!! Okay so what have I been doing the past
week and weekend..? Hmm.... I guess majority of it was just sleeping
and playing games.. yeah.. what a life... but there is ONE thing
that I did that I can show you I suppose... I kinda like it myself,
so here is it =)
It's my final for
my 3D Digital Imaging class. There're some mistakes with the car
that I couldn't fix so I left it at that altho' now I could have
fixed it since I got the solution from my teacher already. Okay,
so that's that, and let's go forward =P
So, over the weekend
I played and finished Castlevania: Curse of Darkness.
Took a total of about 15+ hrs, so it's quite a short game, altho'
most of the hrs are spent on clearing out the enormous maps and
running around back and forth, to and from different places. So
how's the game you say? Hmmm... It's all right. Definitely not
the best altho' it has some bit of originality in the battle system.
I even wrote down a small Pros & Cons review on it so here
it is... tho' no one will be interested =P
PROS
- Unique treatment of the battle
system with the introduction of "Innocent Devils". That
was a sweet idea and a fun aspect in battle.
- Awesome voice acting, both the
Japanese and English ones are marvelous, altho' of course I always
lean towards the Japanese.
-
Uber huge environments.
It takes forever to get from one to the other, especially when
the character's running speed. At least 70% of the time spent
on the game is on exploring the maps, which are mostly quite
boring =.=
-
Uber repetitive
music. The fault is mostly becos of the large environments.
Every different environment has 1 BGM and since it'll take you
a long time to clear the map out and get to your destination,
you'll be hearing the same music again and again non stop, regardless
u're sick of it or not ^^" Personally I find the BGM very
weak in this game, except for those in cutscenes.
-
Weak storyline.
Maybe cos I haven't played the other castlevania games but the
story in this one seems so dumb =.=" 9 hrs through the
game and all I knew was still just "Hector is trying to
hunt Isaac down and kill him cause' he killed his woman".
-
Unchallenging.
Hey, I love easy games but this one's really easy =.=""
It's almost like they purposely made the bosses suck so bad
=.=" However, after you complete the game once there is
a CRAZY mode, and you get to unlock another character (Trevor)
who has a very different gameplay from Hector, so perhaps that's
when you'll get to try the game's challenge...?
And then there's one
more thing... I was very disappointed at the ending. I can't believe
what they did to Isaac. Man I'm disappointed! Isaac is the psychotic
villain of the game, his madness derived by the curse of Dracula.
Altho' in the end you realize he's only being made use of he is
still your (Hector's) enemy, and your ex-fellow student under Dracula.
Having different ideals and worshipping Dracula, unlike Hector who
ended betraying and leaving Dracula, Isaac inevitably becomes Hector's
enemy. But I thought after learning that Isaac was merely being
used, Hector would try find a way to release him from the curse
but no!!! He not only didn't, he... T_T Oh my god... My poor Isaac...
my beloved Isaac... Damn that accursed Dracula!! Ah well... I know
most of you don't know what I'm talking about anyway hahaha! So
okay let's just go on... and I'll show you pics of Isaac, and Hector!
Woott!!
 |
 |
 |
| Left
+ Center = Isaac, Right = Hector |
I know what you're thinking
- You're nuts. Well, thing is, whatever you think, I STILL love
Isaac =P He may be a psycho lunatic and he may have an outrageous
sense of fashion but hey, he still got MY love =) Mwahahaha! Hector's
way more normal but he's just all right to me. He's good looking,
yeah, but he's not special =) Hehehe And since I love Isaac
SO much, I recorded all the cutscenes in the game with him in it!
Yes!! All of them...but one.. =.=" I freaking forgot the opening
cutscene and I've returned the DV camera back to school, dammit!!
Ah well.. guess I'll just have to record it another time.
Okay, enough with Castlevania talk,
and let's proceed to... Resident Evil 4...? Mwahahhaa!!
Well, I was at my friend's place last night playing that game for
like a straight 6-8 hours, wooot!! And it was through the night
and morning too, mwahaha! (10pm-6am) Considering how long we played
we didn't get through much of the game so that was sad. We play
the game together, meaning I'll play some parts and he'll play some
parts, altho' I freak out too much when it comes to boss battles
so he'll do it, which also means he plays more of it =P It's so
funny when we both play together tho' cos we'll get so anxious about
different things. Hahaha!! I'll get scared about one thing and he'll
get scared about another thing, and when we get scared respectively
we'll shove the controller to each other saying "YOU play!"
Hahahaha!! It was fun, real fun =)
SPOILERS:
Unfortunately, yet AGAIN, the game killed my favorite character...
T_T Why do they keep doing this to me?!?! Twice in a row! Dammit!!
Well okay my favorite is of course Leon, the main character, but
there's another guy I love as much... I'll show you:
The guy on the top row
is Luis, and he's the guy I'm talking about. A Spanish researcher
Leon meets and encounters during his mission to save Ashley, the
president's daughter. And of course the guy on the bottom row is
none other than Leon, the hero of the game, also a hero who holds
the guinness world record of dying in the most number of disgustingly
brutal evil ways. ^^" So far, my friend and I have had him
die accidentally, losing his head, for a total of 4 times. 2 times
by a chainsaw dude, 1 time by a 'Wolverine-clawed' dude and the
last by a parasite-infested mutated dude who practically chomped
off Leon's head. Ouch.... I feel for Leon.
Anyway, good news is,
my friend found out the WAY to turn a 180 degree around immediately!!
WOOT!! So that helps, that REALLY helps! We could have died a thousand
more times if we didn't know that! Phewz... Oh yeah, the game tells
you how many times you've died too. Our saved file says that we've
died for a total of 21 times, but that's not really accurate since
we've replayed the game from the start at least 3 times due to corrupted
saved files. Damn the game! It just doesn't work well with a non-8MB
memory card, according to someone from a forum, and mine is a 16MB
so yeah, they're all corrupted. I've replayed the game twice from
the start, spending a total of 7-8 hrs just to get to that part
again, but it got corrupted again, so great =.= So my friend decided
to replay it again himself up to that point, and then we continue
off from there =P Since we've replayed the game a few times and
my friend's better than me I assume we died less times this 3rd
round as compared to the first 2 replays, so if we were to count
all the deaths in all our replays, I'd say it's more than 50 times
=P Hahahaha! Poor Leon.
But well, no matter
how many times Leon may have died we still get to replay/retry until
he survives and proceeds to the next stage... but LUIS doesn't get
the same chance!! He's unplayable of course but at one point of
the game he was there helping Leon fight off the assholes for a
few mins. We didn't even have to worry about him getting hit cos
he's not meant to die... not then. =.=" He doesn't even get
much appearance before the story decides to kill him T_T Auw man!!
He's a nice innocent man who's there to research the parasites and
stuff to help control and stop the catastrophe that'll soon happen.
He even got the vaccine for Leon, and Ashley, since they're also
infected and yet he has to die! Why!??! T_T I'm sad.. so very sad!!
Two deaths in a row...of two of my favorite characters... May Luis
rest in peace. Leon promised that his death won't be in vain and
that he'll avenge for him, so yeah, I'm gonna do it man!! We'll
beat the game sometime soon...! Sometime soon...hopefully... ^^" |

Well... Over this past weekend I
have been starting a few new games. The post with 4 pirated games
arrived on Friday, along with the 2 game rentals from gamefly.com.
So that night I went over to a friend's house to ask for help with
burning a copy for both the games. He burnt Resident Evil 4
first I tried out on his modded PS2 to see if it works. It did so
it was good but since I have to wait for the 2nd game to be burnt
I started trying out the game. Man, I've repeated this story many
times to many different people but it's good to write it down in
my blog I guess, so I'll never forget the experience I had =P
I've never played the Resident Evil
series, ever. I saw my ex play Resident Evil 3 for 3 hours once,
but yeah, that's as much as I've seen. I hate the fact my ammos
are limited and I'm very bad bad bad at aiming so in short, I SUCK
at these kind of games, but I still wanted to try nevertheless.
So I started playing the game with my friend watching me. It was
hella scary and funny at the same time, for me =P I kept yelping
and screaming whenever those people come after me. Yes, people.
They are NOT even zombies, yet (I think). =.= To make things worse,
I didn't even know how to RUN!!! Oh that was bad =P I kept getting
whacked in the head with those farming tools they use. Ouch... >_<
Poor Leon... Oh yeah, Leon's the main character this time =), tho'
I had no idea who he is before I heard about RE4 =P He looks so
much like Brendan Fraser in the Mummy movies from his back!
And in this game you see his back all the time so I keep thinking
he's supposed to be hunting down mummies instead of zombies/people!
Haha!
You know, I nearly died within 5
minutes of the game. That is how bad I am. Hahaha!! But somehow
I got through the first area and entered the next. I died a few
times there but I get to restart from the entrance to the new area
so that's good =) One time I entered a room and was turning around
to look around the room when Isaw a dead body hanging against the
wall. I thought it was an enemy and I jumped and screamed cos it
was sudden, and MY scream scared my friend, startling him as well.
Mwaahahahaha! That was hella funny!! (Altho' it was cos' of fright!)
I first experienced a violent/gory
scene when I shot one of the people in the head at a closer range.
His head just exploded right in front of me, revealing the cross
section of his neck with blood gushing out. Euww... and yeah I definitely
jumped right then, a bit. But hey he's dead, so I should be happy!
So yeah, that's a mixed feeling of fright and joy =P Hahaha!! And
then everything was still okay tho' I definitely died quite a number
of times but that's all right, right? Until.... I first saw the
chainsaw guy. =.= OMFG.... That scared the hell out of me!!! He
came running at me with this chainsaw and all I had was my handgun
so I kept shooting at him anyway but he just wouldn't die!! And
before I knew it he was already sawing me so I was like "Crap,
I'm dead, dammit!" I was waiting to see a "You are DEAD"
message in like a second but for some reason it's taking a while
for it to show up and I noticed Leon was stil being brutally chainsawed
in his neck. I was wondering "Um... hello? Can you finish up
already?" when suddenly I saw Leon's head fall off his neck!!!
OMFFGGG!!! I totally was silent for a moment, my jaw dropped and
my eyes not believing what they just saw. @_@!!! Even my friend
who was watching had his mouth covered in shock. Crap man!! That
was the worst thing ever in the entire game that I've seen!
I was NOT expecting that to happen!!! O_O!!! I mean I know I'm gonna
die but I didn't know Leon's head was gonna fall off!! I thought
he'll just fall dead on the ground like all the time before!! O_O!
OMG... *still traumatized*
[Screenshots from the game. Look at
the chainsaw guy in the top left picture. I HATE him. Oh, also,
the entire game is in widescreen. Cool eh?]
So I had to replay that part right,
and this time I tried to really aim at his head properly so he'd
die before getting to me but NO!!! Again he didn't die and before
I knew it he was already right in front of my face ready to saw
me!! In fright I pressed the start button and freaked out, asking
my friend to help me. Mwahahahaha!!! He unpaused the game and I
totally looked away, prepared to hear sawing noises but my friend
somehow managed to escape!! O_O! OMG!!! I was SOOOO relieved!!!
Man.. that game scares me ^^" Well it's not really TOO scary
but I really don't want to see that scene again, and what scares
me is the fact that I'm gonna die, and very brutally too, cos' I suck at this game. Although, if I have a shotgun I won't
be as scared =P It's a really good game actually, and I'm more interested
in finishing it than the other games I'm playing at the moment but
I can't play it alone ^^" Yeah, I'm a scaredy cat, I admit.
I can't play this game by myself.... ^^" Gotta have someone
watching and supporting me. ^^"
On the downside, Resident Evil 4
has very bad camera controls. The entire game works with the camera
placed on the right of Leon's shoulder and that's all right but
by default if you aim with your gun Leon will aim to the right off
the center. That's still okay but what if you want to turn the camera
around to look around/behind you? The camera (right analog stick)
allows only a max of about 180 degree turn, and ONLY to Leon's front,
so you cannot see what's behind. To see what's behind, you HAVE
to turn/rotate Leon a 180 degrees so that he now faces the opposite
direction. Btw, that's the only way to 'run backwards'
as well. Now the problem is, Leon turns/rotates really slow.
It takes about a full second or more for him to turn a 180 degrees
if let's say you are planning to run away from whatever's in front
of you. You CANNOT run backwards, you see. However, you can walk
backwards, and in a second you prolly get to travel 3 feet behind....
right..... LIKE THAT'LL HELP!?!?! You CANNOT walk/run when you are
aiming your gun, or have your knife out as well. So, if you're at
the moment aiming at somebody, then realize you're too close and
want to get further, you have to turn a full 180 degrees around,
run away, turn a full 180 degrees back again and then aim. How long
will that whole process take? Long enough for a chainsaw guy to
catch up and saw you to pieces. So is that the worst of all worse
things in this game? NO. Camera control in this game is NOT reversed!
Most games use the reversed camera control system where right is
left, left is right, up is down and down is up and I'm TOO USED
to that system. I cannot possibly get used to the non-reversed system
where left is left, right is right..etc Well maybe others don't
find it a problem but to me that is HELL. Oh god... This game must
really hate me...
And then there's Castlevania:
Curse of Darkness. So far the game is easy. Although its flow
of movement and smoothness isn't as good as Devil May Cry 3 or something,
it's still not too bad. The game allows us to change between English
and Japanese spoken language too!! YAYY!! I was sooo happy when
I changed it!! The japanese voices are TOO AWESOME and I LOVE the cutscenes. Although they're not FF quality, they're still good
=) I love it, at least. The battle system also has one interesting
aspect. Hector, the main character of this game, is able to summon
what they call the Innocent Devils (aka ID) and use them to aid
him in battle. So technically you're not fighting against the enemies
all alone. All the time you will have an assistant right beside
you, so it's 2 vs ALL =P Although, I find that against bosses, it's
better you fight alone. =) Now the biggest con of the game that
I find is that the environments are WAAAY TO ENORMOUS!!!! The map
is like BIIGG, and Hector runs real slow! O_O For you to get from
one end to the other end takes FOREVER!! Now that's really TEDIOUS,
I swear!! URGH.... And then there's the music. You hear the same
one music for one entire map and since it'll take soooo long for
you to cover the map you'll be hearing that same music again and
again for hours and it gets really annoying =.=" It's not exactly
the best game music you see.
[I know I chose to post more cutscene
shots than gameplay but the gameplay looks pretty much like that
anyway. My favorite is Isaac, the one with red hair =P]
The other game I started
would be Narutimate Hero 2. Thanks to Riko I am finally able to
play this game... although it pisses me off so bad. =.= Not the
game's fault, but I'm just really bad at it. I find it super duper
tough so URRGHH!!! Man, I need to concentrate on ONE game and
finish it!! I'd like for that to be Resident Evil 4 but I can't
and don't want to play it alone so AAAHHH!! |

Nov 2005, Tuesday |

Okay it definitely has been a while
since I updated this blog, and it's 1.20am now. You see, I AM lazy
to update this blog ^^" But well... since it's a once in a
while update there're many things I can say I suppose....
Well I guess the first thing would
be the project I just finished this morning, yes morning, 8am to
be exact. I stayed in school from 8pm-8am overnight, working on
it. It's another movie similar to the Bunny Tale one I made two
weeks ago, but unfortunately it's not better. Here's it for those
interested - Love
of a Chipmunk. Quality is definitely A LOT better than the bunny
one tho'.
Next thing...well... what can I say?
Aah... good news for me is that, Bluehost (my webhost) has just recently upgraded their plan. It's now, for
the same price, 10GB and with a bandwidth of 250MB per month. Man....
for $6.95 a month, that's a freaking good deal!!! Guess I'm still
lucky to have chosen them after all! Ohohohhooo!! Bet most of the
people actually reading this blog already know bout this, since
I already told ^^"
Thirdly...well I guess it has to
be my Devil's Lair
website. I recently opened a forum and it's doing not too bad right now. Well, there're REALLY PATHETICALLY
very few people but I guess it's easier to manage anyway so it's
all good for me. Strangely tho', the very few people who're actually
active in the forum are 4 girls including me. Mwahahahha!! And here
I thought it'll be a male-dominated forum, since it's about an action
game. Hahahahah!! I guess the girls rock better after all :P Nah...
it's just that the girls are more obsessed with it, for some reason
^^" Yeah man, Dante rulez. =P
And then there's... games, again
:P Guess what, I decided to quit Jak II. It was getting on my nerves
like nothing else does so I totally lost motivation and interest.
Blame the game for being too annoyingly hard and I'm not merely
complaining. I checked Gamespot and the reviews do say it is a tough
game. >_<!! AARGGHH. And Sengoku Basara... yeah, I'm pretty
much done with that game. Not everybody got their final weapon but
those I want to see I already got them. I don't see the point of
getting everyone's final weapons and fully leveling them up anyway.
No matter how strong I am the stages will always be the same and
it will just be boring, so what the heck =P
Due to the influence of my Devil
May Cry forum, I started replaying DMC3 again too, just to see how
well I do and to break records but it's starting to get a little
boring now that I've played too much of it. Hahahaha. And ANNOYING
too, cos the only mission in Dante Must Die mode that I couldn't
beat fair and square is just too outright frustrating. I could have
screamed till the windows break just now when I tried to beat it
for like 15 times, spending god knows how long each time, and dying
ALL those times. UURRGHH!!!
And then one night TYRONE (yes, finally
I mention a name eh) came to my place to hang out for quite some
time and he said he wanted to see 'Prince of Persia: Sands of Time'
so I started it. Hahaha, it was so damn hilarious the way we both
reacted to the game. We go "OOOH!! WHOAAA!! COOOL! SWEEET!!"
at nearly everything. Man that game's really impressive. I totally
wasn't expecting that O_o It's not the quality of the graphics that
impressed us, okay, at least for me, but I thought the entire gameplay
and its presentation is just too cool. It's really unique,
from what I've seen, and it incorporates different camera angles,
perspective and cinematography even during battle that's croweded
in one spot. There're some deliberate slow motion when you do certain
things too and it's just soooo cool! Describing is never gonna be
enough for you to understand why I say this game is soo impressive.
You have to either see it with your own eyes, or experience
it =) Oh, it's got a really unique and original gameplay too!
Ah.. one last thing. I think I've
decided on how I'll get my games from now on. Buying pirated games
from eBay is not the best deal unless you want to and know how to
bargain prices with sellers who're trying to make a HUGE profit
out of it and selling you for £8 (~US$13) when it's really
worth US$1. Getting it from Indonesia doesn't prove that good an
alternative either. The games are CHEAP, yes. A friend helped me
get 4 of them for like 60 cents each! Yes! Cheap! But wait! There's
shipping! I don't know why and how but apparently the weight of
4 godamn DVDs (WITHOUT cases) can go up to a price of US$36. Which
means, at the end of it each game would have cost me US$9. Well
yeah it IS cheaper than getting it on eBay but for I am looking
for BETTER prices still. So what's my last resort which I should
have just used? Gamefly.com.
For those who know of Netflix, Gamefly
is pretty much the same kind of online service, but with games instead
of movies. It's $14.95 per month for 1 game out at a time, which
means, I can just rent all those games I want (and they have the
latest released games as well), burn a DVD copy and then return
immediately to rent the next time. Considering I do this really
quickly, in a month I can at least rent 10 games and copy all those
10 games into DVD, for a cost of $14.95 =P Now THAT's a deal.
Of course the downside is all my games will be in plain DVD roms
and won't look cool, but heck!! They work!! Who needs a fancy looking
DVD with a case and instruction manual when all you want is to really
play the game?? Of course, if you're a game collector, this will
not be the ideal way ^^" Anyway, I think i'm definitely going
for this method now. =) And when I'm done with the games I want
to have, I'll just simply cancel the subcription. Hehehehe... HAPPY
TIME =) |

Oh
my god... I can never fix this site layout problem with Internet
Explorer!! I tried all I can to fix the distortion IE makes when
viewing this site but I just can't fix it!! URGGH!! So please remember
if anyone bothers enough, use ONLY FIREFOX to browse this site!
And for anyone interested in something
dumb but funny, perhaps, feel free to look at this movie I made
for my latest project - A
Bunny Tale (swf/flash format). It's originally in Quicktime
format since it's created in a video editing program, but my sister
helped me turn it into swf just so that it's smaller and more convenient
for most computers.
A few days I also confirmed that
my now 'modded' PS2 is able to read pirated/back up PS2 games =P
Mwahahhaa! A friend bought a game called Sengoku Basara by Capcom
and he was nice enough to agree to burning me a copy of it. I tested
it on my PS2 and woo hoo! It worked!! Mwahahaha!! So from now on
I'm so definitely gonna just rent any game I want and burn a DVD
copy =P Guess my investment was worth it after all. Ohohohohohooo!!
Sengoku
Basara is a pretty cool, fun and comical mass-hack-and-slash
game that is very much similar to the well-known Dynasty Warriors/Samurai
Warriors series by Koei. However I think Sengoku Basara excels over
Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors in all aspects, be it graphics,
gameplay or story. Well, story-wise both are quite similar and straight
to the point but man, no matter how I see it Sengoku Basara is a
lot more fun. It's easy to understand and play even for those who
don't understand a word of Japanese (since there's no NA version,
yet). Many have interesting and sometimes ridiculous and devastating
moves, and the funniest thing has got to be their final weapons.
Most of them have the most absurd object for their final and strongest
weapons. For example, there's a giant swordfish, cooking wok and
ladle, giant banana, fork and knife, flower bouquet, laser disc...etc
This game definitely is a MUST for those who love hack-and-slash
games. What can you say? Capcom ROXX!!! |

AARRGGHH!! I can't believe I
saw it yet I passed it!! It's a really good deal for a web host
yet I didn't go for that one!! I could have saved more than half
of what I spent!! DAMMIT!!! #$)(*&^#$^%@#!! *cries* Ah well...
AAAAHHH!! *bangs head*
Anyway, since now I got a server
I'm just busy uploading stuff onto it, mostly content and downloads
for Devil's Lair. It feels
great to be working on a real server and with a domain name... but
AARGHH!! My money!!!! $$$$ !!! *cries again*
I'm so totally looking for a translator
to do the manga scanlation for the site too. Not that I think I'll
actually find any who can and wants to do the job. Heck. And now
my stomach's growling. I haven't eaten anything, again, for the
day. My sister told me her husband is going to cook steak tonight
but I chose not to go since there're stuff for me to do regarding
the site. Man... Am I torturing myself or what. Hahaha. Urgh. I
need to go eat. |

Man man man... O_o Last night
I just spent $166.80 on a web host for 2 years. Finally, I got
myself a server. I can't stand those free ones no more. There're
always problems and they get on my nerves too much I can die
of frustration!!
I was redesigning the Devil's
Lair - Devil May Cry 3 site (since the previous design was
horrifically shitty) using PHP when after all that work I realize
both the university's web space and geocities do not support
PHP. Heck. So I frantically looked all over for a free web host
that supports PHP, offers FTP, has at least 50MB and no ads.
Sounds like I'm asking for a lot from something free eh? I found
one nevertheless - orgfree.com,
but it allows only a daily bandwidth of 5 MB!!!! WTF!!! Five
megabytes!!! I tried it anyway and it was AWFUL!! I wasted 2
hours uploading since the server was so godamn slow, only to
find out that the site didn't last an hour before it went out
of bandwidth. =_=" Anyway, with my new domain and server
and all, you should now know why the URL to this site changed...
It's been a couple days since
I got Alby (my 3rd gerbil) and guess what?? All 3 of the gerbils
are getting along just fine now!! YAAYY!!! They actually sleep
together too!! Aauuww~! I'm also glad to know that Alby has
learnt to climb the ladder although I have yet seen him drink
from the bottle >_<! No matter how I try to guide him
to it he just won't touch it. I hope he's not suffering from
thirst.
So now I'm playing Jak II...
and it's very hard!!!! >_<!! There're so many missions
that took me 20 tries to beat!! And now I'm stuck at another
one that seems impossible to clear at all!! AARRGGHH!! My nerves
are breaking down again. =_= It's a very fun game but the difficulty
level is way up there compared to Jak and Daxter (the 1st game
of its series). Challenging is good, of course, but annoyingly
hard is something else! *sob sob* Wish myself luck...
By the way, in case no one has
noticed, the profile section to this
site is finally open. |
