Official GOD HAND Sequel Survey

Note: Survey has ended.

Official God Hand Sequel Survey

A message to God Hand fans:

It has been discovered that game producer Motohide Eshiro at Capcom is a huge fan of God Hand and is officially interested in making a sequel, but he requires a show of numbers as well as feedback to prove that there is a demand. Here is the article where this announcement was made.

To make the proposal possible and this dream come true,
please fill in this form to contribute your valuable feedback/support.

For your convenience, only your name and the first question is compulsory. However, please keep in mind that the more feedback you give and the more in-depth / concise it is, the more valuable and helpful it will be for the proposal!

All data gathered in this survey will be handed over to the man (name undisclosed for privacy) who will be documenting and sending it directly to Motohide Eshiro himself at Capcom.

Thank you for supporting God Hand! We truly hope that the sequel will become a reality. May Gene, Olivia and her heavenly axe bless you.

Note: If you plan to write long/detailed answers with better paragraphing and formatting (bullets etc), feel free to email me at cat.wesker@gmail.com instead.l

Back in USA... (Part 1)

I was randomly looking through my photos from back in the US (2002~2007) and I couldn't help but smile at them. It reminded myself of how I was like back then, and the changes in my own person as well as lifestyle. I started this blog 6 years ago in the US, but I know I didn't post many pics of me and my life. It was mostly all games and anime, then again it's not all that different now. >_>; Still, the nostalgia puts a smile on my face so I'd like to share some of them here, namely with my sister. ^_^

I'll be posting several entries over the next few days/weeks on photos from several selected random events/outings, but for starters, let's begin with...

My room (and other random stuff) ^w^

US room US room US room US room US room

There were two rooms in the apartment I stayed. I got the smaller room for the first 3.5 years and moved into the bigger one only after my sister married and moved out. I looked through all my folders to see if I took any pics of the bigger room but sadly it seems that I didn't. >_>; So, these are pics from the smaller room and man... they bring back so much memories! XD

US room US room US room US room

I remember there was this $1 shop at VRC (Valley River Center) and they sold all sorts of plastic flowers and I couldn't help but buy a few to decorate the room. I never had my own room in Singapore as a kid so all these decorations are probably a result of my deprivation. LOL. But, I also never had to clean anyone's room so you can imagine just how dirty this room was after a few months and eventually years. LMAO!! I know my sister's got a lot to say on that one! Wahahaa!!!

US room US room US room US room

I remember I got my first cellphone ever when I was 20. I actually lived in the states for 3 years before I actually got a phone. XD I'm very clear about this cos my sister initially got this phone for my mom when mom and dad flew to the US to attend my sister's wedding, then later on she handed it over to me. I was deep into DMC3 at that moment cos I just recently bought my PS2 then and I actually beat the game for the first time at my sister's apartment the afternoon before her wedding. XD!! That was why I had Dante's pic on the back of the phone. PS: Two months after that I started devils-lair.org ... =P

I also had a pretty big collection of manga then. Man I think I spent about US$2500 on them. Most of them were yaoi manga and anthologies, but there were a few shounen and shoujo series too. It's a shame that I had to sell most of them off before moving back to Singapore, and I gave away those I couldn't sell to a friend. T_T Hope those I sold are in someone else's good hands now...!

The tsunami.

It’s been three days since the almighty tsunami hit Japan. Towns have been swept, people died and nuclear plants exploded. I may be safe behind my computer screen here in Singapore at this moment blogging about some game that’s not gonna change this world, but I wonder, just how much longer will it be before it’s our turn?

Despite strongly hoping it’s not true, I am a believer of ‘the end of the world’, always have been. It’s just a question of when. I’m just lucky to not have come from a disaster-prone place. There are authorities and people who have the power to make a change, while some others the power to aid, but most ordinary civilians like you and I can only watch the news and access the situation like some storybook. We will never be able to truly imagine the fear of encountering a situation like this (tsunami) unless we’ve previously experienced it, and no sane man is gonna want to try it either.

There may be nothing much that we as normal civilians can do to contribute, but at the very least, we can learn to be aware, understand and be grateful that no matter how hard or depressing your life may be, no matter how screwed up the people in your life may be, no matter if you’ve been laid off or how much you may hate your work or boss, at the very least you are still sound and alive, and the world has not collapsed on you. Learn to appreciate the mundane things that are still around you today, the common little things in life that most of us take for granted all the time. It may not be long before our lives are turned upside down, be it due to natural disaster, health, accident or crime. But if we learn to cherish what we have, no matter how little and lacking it may be, we’ll at least be able stay happy/contented and live life to the fullest with whatever remaining time we have, cos people tend to only complain about what they’re missing instead of being glad with what they already have.

That’s why, hereby I would like to say that I am grateful that I am able to still be living life as per normal today, going to work, coming home to a nice dinner and shower, and blogging about some silly game on my PC. I understand and appreciate how fortunate I am and I thank god that I’m still well and alive. Thank you.

Game rant: Street Fighter IV Match Up Experience (Part 3)

Here goes the third/last row of characters.

Guile
GuileThe ultimate test of patience. Dude’s only got two moves, so most of the time he kills people using super annoying footsies, which is like OMG… >_<!! I have little experience against a human Guile but CPU Guile always gets me. Of course the CPU is cheating cos it doesn’t have to charge Guile’s moves but it’s still programmed to play similarly to a human player and I soooo can’t stand his footsies! Argh!

Blanka
BlankaGaaahh!! I don’t like human Blankas! It’s a given defeat the moment even a below-average player uses him against me. He has no combos whatsoever but it’s not like he needs any! It doesn’t matter whether I got hit or had to block, I just dunno how to get in and touch him at all. I’m that bad! >_<! Shit…

Zangief
Zangief*FAINTS* I hate… this…guy…. He’s a nightmare, both CPU and human! X_X!!! I just dunno what to do against him! Can’t jump, can’t get too close, can’t let him get close, has high HP and does a ton of damage, my god!! My main is Yun and Zangief is his worst match up, accckk! Yeah, basically, I am pwnt T__T

Rufus
RufusNot much experience against CPU Rufus, but human Rufus… hmmm! There’s this boy who challenged me a number of times this one night at the arcade when I was using Yun. He first used Guy but later switched to Rufus. I think his level of Rufus is perfect for me cos we kill each other quite evenly, and based on the experience that day, what I fear most about Rufus is his dive kick, which for some reason scares me more than Yun’s dive kicks. It’s also super dangerous to get hit by Rufus’ standing light kick cos of the easy link to Ultra. His crouch heavy punch and EX uppercut are also pretty nasty, ack. I really need more experience against Rufus!

El Fuerte
El FuerteNo experience against a human El Fuerte. Honestly I don’t understand El Fuerte and his moves so I can’t tell what he’s doing and what to do. I’ve never tried using him so I dunno how his moves/attacks work and how to deal with them. CPU El Fuerte is not too tough but as usual he’d anti-air at least half my life. >_>; At least, the good news is, there’re extremely few El Fuerte users. Hehe...

Vega
VegaThey call him a low-tier character, but I always lose to Vega users. Lol. I’m starting to see a pattern here – I suck against charge characters. >_>; I’m basically unfamiliar with his moves and can’t tell what he’s trying to do hence I always get grabbed/clawed or simply forced to block with his long-reached pokes. It also doesn’t help that most local Vega users are above-average and are totally of the wrong level for me to practice with. =(

Balrog
BalrogAnother close-range footsie lover. Ack. I don’t really know what to say, nothing useful anyway. ^^; All I know is that I dislike the fact that his most of his moves have several frames of evasion (or invincibility) and that always gets me. I’m not even sure if his moves are punishable but for now I’m just gonna say I think it’s my own fault I can’t grasp the correct timing to punish his blocked moves. It also doesn’t help that he has a very annoying laugh.

Fei Long
Fei LongThe top-tier guy, they say. I have little experience against human Fei Longs but I am certain I’ve never beaten a single one. Lol. The players I’ve met are not necessary all strong or even average, but he’s got one move that’s enough to kill me – Rekka. It works similarly to Yang’s 3-hit punch, except much safer and abuse-able. He’s also the only character with an uppercut that’s executed backwards (command input), which makes it safer in case of miscues. Another thing is, I’m a Yun user. Yun vs Fei Long is a liiittle bit of a bad match up IMO just cos of one thing – Yun’s dive kick and Fei Long’s ultra 2 Gekirinken. X_x It’s hard to refrain from abusing dive kicks with Yun, cos that’s like telling Ryu not to Hadouken. >_>;

T Hawk
T Hawk*Screams and flees* Hate hate hate hate hate T Hawk!!! >_<!!! A totally WTF character alongside Zangief, both CPU and human, and Yun’s worst nightmare. T__T!! He needs NO combos. Just random flying moves here and there and the ultimately feared command grab of doom, which IMO is worse than Zangief’s SPD (Spinning Pile Driver). An uppercut masher is hard enough to deal with already, let alone a command grab masher with a grab range of 2 miles or something. ¬_¬…

Adon
AdonDamn N.O.I.S.Y. I’ve only ever played with one Adon of the same level as me, I think, and I remember it to be quite annoying. Not being able to punish Jaguar Kick is one thing, but getting hit by his uppercut kick gets on my nerves all the time cos of the way he screeches. Yeah it actually kinda affects me o_o…

Rose
RoseNo experience against a human Rose, and CPU Rose is relatively annoying cos of spamming her one unpunishable move (I dunno the name sorry), which I think players would also love to spam. Her second ultra can also be rather troublesome to deal with depending on when and how it’s executed/used, but cos I have no experience against a player I don’t really have any valid comments on this.

Game rant: Street Fighter IV Match Up Experience (Part 2)

Here comes the second row of characters.

Yun
YunI’ve only ever fought human Yuns using Yun as well, resulting in a mirror match. Yun is a top-tier character but a mirror match makes the battle an even one. What I find hard to do and hard to deal with is dive kicks. It’s easy to do a dive kick, but hard to master exactly when to do it (and at what angle) to result in a safe jump. Between two Yun users, the difference in this single technical skill is enough to determine their victory/defeat, and this is where I know I’m lacking. Sigh. Just imagine how badly it’d go if I fight a human Yun using anyone else. >_>;

Juri
JuriAck, I’ve fought Juri way too many times… yet I’m still bad at this match up no matter who I use (but especially Viper). X_x  I don’t know her frame details whatsoever, but her punches and kicks feel so fast I’m always forced to block. She has no real uppercut but her cartwheel kick is anti-air anyway it’s annoying. T_T I learned how to block overlap attacks cos of my friend who uses only Juri, but it’s still barely enough to survive or prolong the match a little longer. Sigh… I dunno which is worse, my brain or my nervous system. Prolly both. Lol.

Chun Li
ChunliEep. CPU Chunli is ok, but human Chunlis are not. Those I’ve fought against are way above my level and they’re so unforgiving =’( The best part is, I don’t even remember how I died. ^^; But I do remember that I didn’t die under an Ultra or Super. Oh wait, I remember getting hit by Hazanshuu a lot. Grrr. I’m sure even in a mirror match I’d still die badly, so yeah, bottom line, I don’t think I have the brains against her. >_>; shit.

Dhalsim
DhalsimNo experience against a human Dhalsim, but a CPU Dhalsim is enough to kill me, lol. I can’t even begin to think of how to deal with Dhalsim’s long distance footsies and random teleportation even though Yun has advantage against him. I’m really not used to getting hit across the whole screen with a single punch/kick. >_<! Then again, luckily for me there are few local Dhalsim users. =P

Abel
AbelCPU Abel is scary; he can anti-air/grab you in a single frame while you’re in the midst of attacking (especially against Viper's burning kick). Human Abels are threatening only if they’re above average, and I’ve not played against one. Phew =P It’s scary to stay on the ground for too long cos Abel’s too good at surprise-dashing and grabbing people out of nowhere. I also tend to block his overheads the wrong way and get hit anyway. X_x Need… more… match up experience….!

Viper
ViperNo experience against a veteran Viper; only a little against a still-in-training Viper, which means there’s no need/chance to learn to defend against sudden overlapping burning kicks or feint cancels. =P Honestly I don’t quite remember what happened and what I learned in that match, and since I wasn’t using a fireball character (was using Yang) there was no need/chance to learn how to avoid her Seismic Hammer move either.

M.Bison
BisonMan... no matter CPU or human, this dude only needs two moves to beat everyone - standing heavy kick and scissors kick. His other moves are just as annoying but they're nothing compared to these, IMO. He also has a very annoying 'flying' palm attack move thingy that annoys the shit out of me and I have yet figured what to do against it. Even then, he's still better than the next person on this list...

Sagat
SagatMy god… I hate playing against human Sagats no matter defensive or offensive. But of course, defensive ones are worse. They test my patience to the max it’s insane. Thank god he’s nerfed in SSF4 and SSF4AE but I still don’t like him. >_> He’s basically a more fucked up version of Ryu cos of his high and low fireballs, and unpunishable Tiger Knee. Grrr! Most of my experience against Sagat is on the original SF4 (Vanilla) though and man… I get sooo tired every time. T_T

Cammy
CammyNo experience against a human Cammy but man do I hate her Spiral Arrow kick. It looks and feels so punishable but damn it's got a long block frame!! It's like the only thing I can punish with is a throw cos nothing comes out whenever I try to do a punch/kick in an attempt to combo instead. Other than that, I don't really know what else to say about her at this moment...

Deejay
DeejayDeejay plays similarly to Guile. except he's got more moves... I think. I hate his kicks, they are unpunishable and can't be absorbed using focus attack. It also doesn't help that his lines/battle shouts are annoying. =_=; Thank god he's a charge character. XD

Cody
CodyNo experience against a human Cody, and little against CPU Cody. I dunno why but it's kinda rare for me to get Cody against the CPU, but I do remember he's kicked my ass before just by spamming his charged punch. >_>; That's where/how I learned to abuse that punch myself. =P I don't quite remember what else he's got that I particularly couldn't handle and the local Cody users don't seem to be surviving well enough against others.... Hmm... =/

Guy
GuyI only had some experience against an in-training Guy user, and Guy wasn't even his main so I can't say I know anything solid about this match other than "Beware of Ultra2!". CPU Guy, however, likes to spam random punches and kicks (especially stand medium kick) as if he's a footsie character (but he's not), and for some reason it's really annoying! >_<!

Hakan
HakanNo experience against a human Hakan; no body even really uses him. Those who do use him (the local people) purely for fun or experimentation purposes and not becos he's their main. CPU Hakan, however, is quite good at killing me, lol, cos he's yet another grappler... with an anti-air Ultra. All CPU grapplers are batshit insane, there's really no need to describe it any further. Just try it and you'll know what I mean. >_>;

Yang
YangDespite having dive kicks like Yun (but slower), Yang doesn't particularly have any threatening moves or tactics, not in the hands of average players anyway. Even then, somehow I still get trashed quite often lol. It just goes to show how much I suck... LOL. His most annoying move is his 3-hit attack, which is unpunishable only if executed using light punch. When I think back and study what I did wrong, this is prolly it - not knowing how to get back to offense once forced to block his 3-hit attack (I dunno its name, sorry). His blockstring 'pokes' can also be very annoying, much on the same scale as Yun.

Game rant: Street Fighter IV Match Up Experience (Part 1)

Important disclaimer: I'm a noob!! >_<!!

I wanna post something, but I dunno what to talk about so SF4 again it is. >_>; Just a warning, the comments are gonna be really boring and repetitive. I'm just writing whatever first comes to mind, and the characters are ordered according to the SSF4 Arcade Edition selection screen. (Also, CPU related comments are based on the hardest difficulty.)

Ryu
RyuHere we go, starting with a shoto character FTW. CPU Ryu is scary. All characters with true uppercuts are automatically gods when your opponent is the almighty CPU – they’ll anti-air the shit out of you with 99.99% accuracy (the 0.01% is in the case of trade attacks) Against a human Ryu, they’ll prolly fireball and uppercut the shit out of you half the time, and foot-slap you with random tatsumaki the other half. Argh… lol. I hate tatsumaki (hurricane kick)… they always aim for overlap and I always get hit. Damn I suck. >_> Still, Ryu is a good opponent for me no matter the level of the human opponent. It forces me to learn to be patient and to slowly figure how to get around uppercut spammers, even though I still fail badly at the latter. Lol

Ken
KenKen is very similar to Ryu. The difference is that against CPU, he can kill you solely with uppercuts. Against humans, however, the lower level ones play almost just like Ryu, while the high level ones go for kara-slam (not sure how they use his feet-pokes yet). Still, my experience against Ken users has been almost identical to Ryu, except Ryu is stronger.

Ehonda
EhondaNo experience against a human Ehondam, and CPU Ehonda is a bitch, especially when I’m not using a fireball character. He’ll seriously just park at a corner and wait…. and wait… and then randomly head butts. If I jump, he’ll anti-air me with a punch. =_= Then at some point he’ll spam butt crush and command grab. X_x He trains me how to block aerial moves in the right direction, but I still haven’t fully gotten a hold of it. Sigh…

Ibuki
IbukiNo experience against a human Ibuki, but I know her Ultra1 (Yoroitoshi) is gonna be the thing to watch out for. I don’t get Ibuki much against the CPU either so I dunno what else to say. I’m just glad her regular moves aren’t too damaging. Lol

Makoto
MakotoI’ve had minimal experience against Makoto on SSF4AE. I dunno what she can do per se but I really hate her standing medium punch (they spam like mad!) and command grab. That’s just cheap T_T. Gotta learn to either have the habit of stand-blocking (not crouch) or train my reflexes to react in time to her overheads.

Dudley
DudleyNo experience against a human Dudley but I hate that his moves involve backward evasion + attack, plus the fact his uppercuts can be done twice. He also has a very strong counter move that seems to get me in all sorts of situations. A high level of defense is a must against a human Dudley.

Seth
SethNo experience against a human Seth but I'm very used to CPU cos of the boss fight. Basically I just have to crouch and wait until he leaves an opening. Jumping is NOT an option unless you predicted it right that he's gonna do either a Sonic Boom or a Dhalsim heavy punch. He uses up his EX bar (and Ultra) as soon as he has it, especially if you keep attacking when he's down. Human Seths obviously aren't gonna be as predictable as CPU and considering the good number of unique moves he has (which is stolen) he's gonna be one super bitch to handle despite the low HP. I'm glad there aren't that many Seth users around. =P

Gouken
GoukenZero experience against Gouken for both CPU and human opponents.

Akuma
AkumaOddly, I have no experience against a CPU Akuma, but I do against a human. The Akuma users I’ve played against aren’t technically (combo and execution) great (we’re all of equally low levels LOL) but I notice a pattern – they mostly hit and run. This is a trait similar to the Ryu and Ken players I’ve fought but Akuma has air-fireballs, which makes it even more annoying. Sigh. I really gotta learn how to get past those. Changes of getting hit by his Ultras are low though, so phew. XD

Gen
GenNo experience against a human Gen. The one and only experience I had was against my friend who's not really trained in SF4 so that doesn't count. I've never tried him out and I dunno how his attacks work so I'm pretty much useless. LOL. All I know is that I don't like his lightning-hand attack; the CPU does it all the time and I just can't seem to punish him regardless if I block or get hit. Sigh... There's so much to learn.

Dan
DanNo experience against a human Dan, but CPU Dan is similar to Ryu, except slightly weaker. He still uppercuts me to death though. LOL. Also, his version of tatsumaki is pretty annoying cos it doesn’t seem punishable. Gotta learn and understand my options against that. Anyway, good thing that chances of getting hit by his Ultras are rather low.

Sakura
SakuraI have minimal experience against a human Sakura but I don't quite remember how it went. ^^; Whoever it was, I just know he kicked my butt. LOL. Of all of Sakura's moves, I dislike her tatsumaki (both regular and EX versions) the most; I don't quite get if they're punishable.
