Video Games Live @ Singapore

I went for Video Games Live (video games concert) at Kallang indoor stadium on the 19th of June and it was a blast! This is the first time VGL has performed in Singapore and there was only one performance at one specific day and time, and I'm glad I didn't miss out on it.

I'm lucky in the sense that I got in for free (XD!) cos' I "helped out" as part of the crew for a friend who's one of the co-sponsors for the event; he ran a booth in the stadium before the concert. To be honest I barely did anything, but I sure as hell appreciated and enjoyed the free concert!!! <333 (We were able to randomly pick good seats that were not taken too! Wahahaa!)

The concert started officially at 8.30pm. Their first 'song' was a mix of super duper old classic games like Pong and Space Invaders, and the second one was immediately Metal Gear Solid. KyaaAA!!! <333 It was awesome becos' before they proceeded with MGS, the MC/guitarist made it very clear and gave us full permission to scream/yell/go nuts at any point in time. WAHAHAHA!!! So I totally didn't hold nothin' in. =P Scream all I want, baby! Yee har!

My footage of the MGS segment:
(Pardon all the screaming... and get used to it =P)

The entire performance covered songs from a dozen or so classic/famous video games. I don't remember the whole list but here is a list of what I remember - Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Sonic, Metal Gear Solid, World of Warcraft, Diablo III, Halo, Chrono Trigger/Cross, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, Kingdom Hearts, Tron and Guitar Hero (one of the Aerosmith songs).

Although I dunno many of these games, or that I don't recognize their music, it was still fun/awesome to listen. In fact, the song that I nominate to be the most epic was a song I don't even recognize and it's from a series I don't play - Chrono Trigger/Cross. Second prize would have to go to World of Warcraft, and I don't even like that game. XD The most disappointing one turned out to be Halo as I was expecting some uber epic yet it wasn't really. Anyway, here's the last second piece they played, everyone's good ol' favorite...

My footage of the One Winged Angel segment:

Bottomline, VGL was tons of fun, especially for first timers (cos' otherwise you'll notice that many things are the same no matter where they perform) I'm really glad I went for it. ^__^

Resident Evil 5: The Mercenaries (Part 2)

It's been a while since I've posted anything on RE5's Mercenaries so I thought I should add something, anything. I still remember those days back in the US when I was madly crazy about RE4 Mercenaries for perhaps a straight month, posting about it for 3 to 4 times in a row, detailing every stage and playable character, recording tons of footage and stuff. Man... Good old times.

I feel bad that I'm not/haven't done the same for RE5 Mercenaries. Mind you, it's not becos' it ain't fun cos' it is. I guess it's just that there're twice as many stages and characters that it'll take forever to write about everything, not to mention I really suck at a lot of those stages. x_X I also haven't cleared the last stage (the prison) with all the characters, cos' I really hate the way the area is set up; my mind isn't made to memorize bloody mazes.

So anyway, here's a video I recorded yesterday using my digicam, cos' unfortunately my capture card's got issues with the HDTV and I haven't figured out how to solve it just yet (This sucks. Urgh!). For your info, I'm not too familiar with STARS Chris and was just trying him out on stage 5, cos' a footage of Tribal Sheva in this stage would be pretty 'boring' for those who get what I mean... ^^;

Karaoke Madness

For the first time ever in Singapore, I was finally able/got the chance to sing anime songs at a KTV with friends who love the same. I was damn excited of course, and it was a shitload of fun!! So glad I brought my camera along with me to record our "moments" in "history". XD Wahahhaahaa!!! <333

Too epic not to sing. I had the lyrics fully memorised (it's short anyway), but my friend wasn't as sure. >_>; To listen to the original which is 9999x more awesome, click here.

Snake Eater
Finally! I've always wanted to sing this song at a KTV!! And they have the bloody original song too!! Whooo hoooo!! <333 But it was annoying when the damn mic kept cutting me off in the beginning. Guess it got faulty. I switched it with another one halfway through.

We Are!
One Piece's first opening theme, an anthem for all fans around the globe. Even tho' the singing's horrible (LOL) the experience was awesome. We're a One Piece gang, what do you expect?! XD

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Part 2)

Damn... Sorry I haven't been updating this blog for a long while... I've been busy with quite a few things the past few weeks, half of which involves the topic of this post. XD Yeah I know it's so random and such but whatever you say, I say TMNT rocks my socks!!!!!

The TMNT 2003 series is sooooo awesome it's officially my top 3 favorite animated series in the world, the other two being One Piece and Slam Dunk. In fact, I love it SOOO much, I even bought my first original DVD ever (the TMNT CGI movie), and in Japanese!! All because I wannna listen to them in Japanese dub!! <3333 Of course, the dub can't beat the original English voices (it's originally American after all), but it's still really fun and interesting to listen to.

Anyway, since I've been sooo engrossed with the turtles, here's my inevitable rant on them~ A note for those who're familiar with them - you may find repeated information you already know. (The turtles below are listed in order of most favorite to least, but to be fair, I like them all.)

RaphaelRaphael
Hotheaded, impatient, brash and impulsive, Raph is prolly the #1 favorite among fangirls. (Judging on the search results at DeviantArt) LOL. He's the kind who follows the way of "fight first, think later" and is quick to attack anything before the others can even stop him. He is very strong and skilled, but his temper often gets the better of himself, distracting and keeping him from his potential sometimes, which is something Mikey loves to tease him about. Raph is sarcastic about a lot of things and may sometimes sound cold to his brothers, especially Leo, but like a classic tsundere he is highly protective of them that if an enemy so much as scratches them, he'd be the first to kick the shell out of 'em. XD Several times when Mikey got injured Raph would be the one holding him up telling him to hang in there... tho' Mikey usually ends with a slap in the back of his head cos' he's just fakin' it. XD Some think that Raph's rough relationship with Leo is cos' he wants to be the leader, but the way I see it they conflict with each other only becos' Raph acts on impulse while Leo acts on rationale, and Raph does not like being told what to and what not to do. But just cos' he doesn't like being instructed doesn't mean he likes instructing others on a daily basis. =3

Raphael Raphael Raphael Raphael

MichelangeloMichelangelo
The fun and loud party surfer dude. Loves pizza, comics books, super heroes and horror movies, especially those with no story and shitloads of gore. LOL. Then again, he's in fact very afraid of creepy stuff and would be the first to bail out, hide and shrieeeeek like a girl. Thanks to his hyperactive and playful nature, his inability to shut up, curiosity and carelessness often annoy his brothers, who say that his only talent is to be annoying. LOL. Speaking of talents, Mikey is highly adept at skateboarding while his brothers choose to go with the bicycle (Don), scooter (Leo) and roller blades (Raph). He acts big and shows off here and there sometimes (especially to Raph), but when a challenge truly appears his inconfidence shows and he'd tend to avoid it altogether unless he has no choice, which is usually the case. =P. Mikey also loves to do impersonations of famous people and characters, and keeps a ginger cat he calls Klunk.

Mikey Mikey Mikey Mikey

DonatelloDonatello
The patient, calm and analytic techno-geek and genius of the four. Seriously, what can the team do without him??? Donnie's the one who built their shell cells (cellphone), battle shell (car), submarine, modified stolen helicopter, home security system, personal computer, TVs and a gazillion other flying and fancy gadgets. He's not a doctor but each time someone gets sick or hurt, he's the one to take care of them. When it's time for an enemy territory invasion Donnie's the dude to hack into their systems (with April's assistance). When an enemy is locked in a seemingly impenetrable cage he's the turtle who blows up the door. o__o.... With all the daily training and random missions to save people and the world, it's the 8th world wonder how he gets any time to work and build all the above techno stuff, and alone (excluding ocassional help from Leatherhead). Having the patience of a saint, Donnie is prolly the only turtle who has entirely no conflict with the others.

Don Don Don Don

LeonardoLeonardo
The responsible and 'perfect' leader. He practices and follows the code of bushido religiously and follows their master's every word, hence referred to as Splinter's "favorite son", and labeled "Splinter Junior" and "O' fearless one" by Raph. XD. As leader, Leo strives hard keep the team safe and ready for any challenge or war that may come ahead, but it proves tough when you have brothers like Raph and Mikey. Regardless, Leo is one to immediately take up all responsibility for any mistake, especially if anyone of them (or an ally) is hurt. While travelling through other worlds and dimensions, Leo finds a friendship with a rabbit samurai called Miyamoto Usagi, both of who value honor as much as life itself.
