Agnus’s demon form sure is unsightly. I thought he fits the image of a bull better than a bettle.... =_=; But okay, whatever, let’s get going:
- Agnus always begins by immediately swinging his sword to hit you (he’ll do it twice). He may be slow, but he does it as soon as the battle begins, so if you don’t jump first thing you will get hit.
- After that he’ll summon half a couple of Gladius (or Basilisks for harder modes) which you can snatch, grab and throw it back at him for decent damage. Or, you can also keep slashing at him with Aerial Combo as he's summoning the Gladius; your aerial attacks could kill them as well as damaging Agnus, saving you a lot of trouble. Also, notice that these Gladius drop white orbs when killed.
- Agnus has a move whereby he turns slightly greenish and tries to grab you and drain your life, which will in turn heal his. If you get caught, unleash DT and he will drop you immediately. However, if you attack him constantly, he would not have the chance to perform this move as he will get knocked out of his stance after receiving a few hits.
- After continuously damaging him enough, he will be stunned for a while and you can further attack before you finish it with a Buster. (DT and mash [] during the action sequence for maximum damage.)
- Next, notice that once in a while Agnus will charge a move for a while in the center of the room with his body glowing green. You MUST stop this. Put side whatever you were doing and either 1) grab a Gladius and throw it at him (must succeed) or 2) attack him continuously until he’s knocked out of that stance (Aerial Combo recommended). If you fail to do this, he will end up draining a LOT of your life and recovering even MORE of his life, so don't mess up.
- His next phase is one whereby he summons fireballs from a warp hole behind him. These can be avoided by side rolling/jumping. Usually, there’s also enough time for you to slash him a few more time before you run away to avoid the fireballs.
- The last thing he summons is a pair of cutlasses. You can tell that Agnus is going to summon them if you see him bow like some dance move. Get away from him to avoid the Cutlasses' leap attacks and then return to him for attacks once they disappear back into the ground.
- Eventually, Agnus will grab the two cutlasses to do a spinning attack, which you can run and then jump away from only AFTER he releases them. Then rinse and repeat the above steps. Oh, if you need extra health, break the steel container things around the room; they’ll give you some little health.
