In a lot of ways, Bael is more annoying than Berial ever is, so be sure to give him a little more patience than you did Berial.
- Bael himself doesn’t appear to begin with and instead you’ll be fighting with two of his fan-service naked lady-feelers. All they do is dance and float around, provoking you to go after them for attacks.
- Unfortunately, shooting doesn't work on these ladies majority of the time. If you wish to do any sort of visible damage you'll have to resort to your sword and devil bringer. Attack only when they're far apart enough from each other and always target the one that's walking or floating closest to the ground.
The moment they twirl away after you land a combo, get away immediately as they're likely to retaliate. (Note that they take very little damage, and also spill out tiny red orbs)
- Of their three attacks, there's one whereby they slowly float towards you with their hair flaring open and if you'll freeze if caught (it does no damage though). To avoid, jump/Air Hike, but you might as well use this chance to snatch them over (they'll be open to DB) and quickly press O for Buster. If you happen to get caught, you can escape by unleashing DT, considering this is not your first play through.
- Another move they do which you can counter with a snatch + Buster is the body spinning attack (they look like they're dancing). However, your snatch will successfully land only if done in the middle of their attack, not right when they execute it.
- After taking down about 1 bar of his life, Bael will lunge out from the darkness. Side roll away from it. (If you have obtained DT and are replaying this, you can unleash DT to escape if you get eaten) Most of Bael's attacks can be avoided by jumping, except for the icicle and lunge attack which you’ll have to run/side roll away from respectively.
- For offense, it is a lot safer that you attack him from his sides rather than direct front by his mouth. This way, it is also easier for you to hit him if he starts backing away as he is quite the defensive type.
- Like Berial, hitting Bael enough times will cause him to collapse. Continue to slash away several times and then run up to his face and press O by this tongue for a Buster before he recovers. [Note: You can try make him collapse faster by hitting off all the ice on his head]
- After a while, Bael will eventually disappear again and you’ll have to fight his lady-feelers again until he comes out. He takes a deep breath and blows a strong wind before he disappears, so when you see him breathing in, charge a Charged Shot (LV3 would be sweet) and shoot, or you can run up to his face and hack away until he disappears. If this is a replay and you already have DT, try and see if you can do Maximum Bet (in DT, R1 + back + /\ and O; it's chargable) in time. It looks sweet and does sweet damage. =)
