- Attack either the three heads or the legs, but the legs take very little damage. Still, under continuous attack over a period of time (using Spiral Swords for example), attacking either the heads or legs could still cause the dog to collapse (which is a good thing).
- Shoot Summoned Swords to remove the ice on their heads, but unlike Dante's shotgun, it may take a
number of hits before the ice breaks off.
- If you continuously attack the heads,
they will sometimes headbutt
or snap their teeth at you. It's hard to predict exactly when they'll do this (it's quite random) but it's avoidable if you play a little more defensive and jump away from their heads after whacking a few times.
- Once the ice protection is off, you can now attempt to charge at them
head-on. Go offensive with Aerial Rave (Yamato). If they collapse, you will
have more time to inflict even more damage. If they don't collapse, keep attacking
with Aerial Rave until Cerberus shows its next sign of
attack.
Reminder:
The best time to attack is when Cerberus
shake their heads.
- To evade the Ice Breath move (breathes
out ice at the ground), run away from
the direction of the of the ice and
when it's about to get you, jump
and at the peak of your jump. Perform
Air Trick or Trick Up if
you are at LV2 Darkslayer. Another
way is to jump and at the peak and perform
Aerial Rave (2 hits).
- Note: The head with red eyes does the Ice Breath, green eyes does the Icicle Falls, and blue eyes does the Ice Boulder Projectile.
- Jumping will dodge their Stomp-Ice-out-of-the-Ground
and Paw-Swiping attacks, and to avoid
the Icicle Falls attack, just keep running
away. Sometimes, you may need to do a
side roll near the end of your run.
- To avoid their ice boulders projectiles, run to one
side of the room and jump/roll away
when you see it coming. Alternatively, you can run towards the side of their legs. You can also slash
it in half at the right time but it's
not recommended.
- When they're about to lunge at you,
they'll go into a particular stance so
remember that stance. To avoid it, just
stay out of their direct front. (In fact,
just make it a habit to always
stay away from their direct front). You
may also need to side roll away when they
lunge for extra safety. Attack as they reel
themselves back to place.
-
Cerberus's tendency is to stomp ice out
of the ground with one leg first then
the other, and then lunge at you so always
be prepared to get away from their direct
front when you see them do that.
